SP FanFic Other Dimention Part 05

WARNING THIS FANFIC IS BASED AFTER THE EVENTS OF KOTW, AND CONTAINS SPOILERS

Thanks to all for reading this!!!

Lord Vile walked in the room with flecks of blood on his armour.
“Ah Lord Vile, here you are! Did you kill her?” Mevolent asked
“Yes” He whispered
“Great where’s the body? I wish to make sure you did it” Mevolent said. Lord Vile cocked he’s head as if to ask ‘You doubted me?’ Lord Vile gestured with his hand and a couple of red hoods came forward dragging a body with them. The body was in a brown maid’s dress and had a hole through the stomach. The face was mangled beyond comprehension, so much that the face no longer looked like a face but an area covered in blood and with chunks of flesh hanging loosely in the wrong places.
“No … No, No, No, No!” Adelle sobbed “No t-this can’t be right! No! Mum! No, No wake up mum, wake up!” Adelle said as the knelt next to her “Please” she whispered as she touched the cold skin. She was sobbing loud hard sobs that made her whole body shake. Adelle’s face had red blotches from sobbing, but she didn’t care, her mum was dead and she wasn’t coming back.
“You killed her” she whispered to Lord Vile, “YOU KILLED HER!” Adelle roared as she leaped at him. The two red hoods caught her in mid-air and tried to drag her away from him.
“I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU” she struggled the red hoods made her face Mevolent, then made her kneel, “I hate you” she whispered
“Now you’re a sorcerer that’s a little unexpected. But I haven’t seen a person be able to change their size before! Tell me how long have you known that you were a sorcerer?” Asked Mevolent his voice soft
“A-about a y-year” said Adelle still sobbing
“Mmunm so not that long? You seem like you have a good amount of control over it.”
“N-no I don’t, b-but my emotions m-make it easier t-to do”
“Yes I would imagine so. How did you find out that you were a sorcerer and why didn’t you tell anyone beforehand?”
“Well” Adelle said calming down a bit, “My Grandfather di-died about a year ago, a-and when I found out about his d-death I-I was devastated, h-he was the best gr-grandfather anyone could e-ever have! I-I went to my room and curled up on the floor, I-I felt so small, and I-I don’t know when I finally stopped crying, I-I found that I w-as s-so small.” Adelle took in a ragged breath, “It took me half an hour t-to g-get back to about regular size. A-and, and-” Adelle burst out crying; she brought her knees up to her chest and sobbed. She couldn’t take it anymore her mother was dead and she would never forgive herself, it was her fault, if she didn’t give Lord Vile the messages that maybe her mother would still be alive!
Mevolent sighed “Ok, why didn’t you tell any on earlier? You could of gotten respect and you could of gotten a better job than being a maid”
“W-with a-all due respect I-I didn’t want t-to get involved t-till I was eighteen, the I-I would have been a legal adult, a-and I though t-that I-I could keep my f-family o-out of it, b-because I though i-if I was an a-adult then n-no one from the r-resistance o-or your sorcerers w-would n-need to contact my f-family.”
Mevolent grunted
“Your under clothes, they still seem to fit you, why is that?” Asked Serpine
“W-well I told a-a tailor a-about my s-situation, h-he made m-me this d-dress, h-he made it f-for free b-because he wanted the c-challenge. He s-said that I-I could pay him back w-when I w-was older.”
“So he just wanted the challenge? Who is this tailor?”
“Mr Cotes, h-he’s a sorcerer, j-just an elemental. He w-works on Jamison street”
“Your leg is still in tacked even thought I saw a red hood’s scythe hit it, how is this?” Asked Serpine
“W-well the further a-away from my o-original size I get t-the harder my skin is t-to pierce”
“Mmmmm … well I have come up with a generous offer, that you can either accept or refuse, it’s you choice” said Mevolent with a wolfish grin, “The offer is that you could work for me and be one of my mages, you will be payed when you work of course, the right amount, and we can forget this thing ever happened”
Adelle opened her mouth to scream something like ‘You stupid bitch, my mother’s dead how can I forget this’ but she quickly realised who she was about to well it to, and she figure her family would have had enough deaths for one day, so she closed her mouth again, then opened it,
“And my Lord what if I don’t accept?”
“Well then it’s quite simple really, you and your family will be considered as resistance and be hunted down, captured for information, if you don’t tell information then we shall force out of all you, physically or mentally. So it’s your choice” said Mevolent still grinning. Adelle wanted to wipe the grin off his face so bad! But she knew that that had won, and so did he. Adelle sighed
“Ok I’ll agree but I only want to work part time, the rest I’ll work as a maid” she said. Mevolent considered this for a moment.
“I have no objection to that. But you and your family can’t leave the walls of this city or you shall be considered part of the resistance. Although you may leave when you are instructed by me.”
“My Lord I mean no disrespect, and I understand your decision but we have extended family outside the walls and we tend to visit them every few years for Christmas or New Year. And it would be nice to be able to visit them”
“You may leave the City for those occasions but a number of mages must be informed which town you are going to and when you are leaving, from there the mages will keep an eye on you and your family but they will stay a respectable distance away from your family meeting”
“Thank you My Lord you are too kind” Adelle said as she bowed her head.
“Lord Vile please assort this young lady home” said Mevolent as he gave Lord Vile he keys to the cuffs “Oh and I expect your full cooperation from now on, considering how generics I have been to you. You will start tomorrow”
Adelle nodded and stood up, her leg was sour from where the red hood’s scythe hit, the looked down, the was a massive ugly bruise forming. Lord Vile remover the cuffs, she felt her magic flood back into her, it made her feel good and strong, she barely managed to stop herself from punching Lord Vile and Mevolent. She tried not to look at her mother because every time she did tears threatened to spill everywhere.
“What is your name?” asked Mevolent
“Given on taken?” Adelle replied
“Both if you have both” he responded
“My Lord my given name is Adelle Gent and my taken name is Adelaide Shifter”
“Why did you chose that name?”
“Well my Lord I liked the name Adelle, and Adelle can be short for Adelaide, although it’s not for me. And I chose Shifter because I’m a size shifter.”
“Interesting, you may leave now!” said Mevolent, Adelle gave a bow, collected her dress and shoes, then followed Lord Vile out of the room.
When the doors had closed Adelle slipped on her shoes then started walking to the kitchen. Lord Vile stepped in her path and reached for her elbow. Adelle drew back.
“Leave me alone!” she said her voice harsh.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“I’m going to the kitchen” she replied and tried to pass him, but he stepped in her way
“Why?”
“Well I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m in a short sleeved dress that ends just above my knees and it’s snowing outside!” she said with anger rising in her voice. Lord Vile just cocked his head, and then grabbed her shoulder but before she could pull out of his grip they shadow walked.

SP FanFic Other Dimention Part 04

WARNING THIS FANFIC IS BASED AFTER THE EVENTS OF KOTW, AND CONTAINS SPOILERS

Thanks to all who read!!! And I welcome comments! ... My lab rats (Siblings) haven't read this part ... of for that matter about half of it, but yes i would like feed back please. Thanks to all that read! It is welcomed and it's great to know that my work is read and liked!!!
Now i should stop delaying and get to part 4! So here it is!

The three days after Lord Vile ‘accompanied’ her home, Adelle had finished cleaned Lord Vile’s room. When.
“Adelle wait up!”
Adelle turned to see Sarah
“Hi Sarah, how are you?”
“I’m good! But you might not be!”
“What do you mean?”
“Lord Mevolent wants to see you in the throne room at two-thirty exactly!”
“What! Why?” Adelle almost yelled
“I’m not sure, he didn’t say. But everyone has been keeping an eye out for you so they could tell you. Do you have any idea what it is about?”
“No, no I don’t! … Um what’s the time?
“Two-fifteen”
“Oh god! Then I’ve got to hurry! See you round … if I live”
“Um … ok bye and I hope I see you again when you’re alive and intact!”
“Me to!” Adelle yelled back as she hurried to the kitchen to put her stuff away.

***

Adelle arrived at the doors to the throne room a couple of minutes early. But it was better than being late. Why dose Lord Mevolent want to see me? Of all people! I’m only a maid and I haven’t done anything wrong! … Have I?
The red hoods where stationed outside the door standing like statues. Adelle had already told them who she was, than Lord Mevolent was expecting her and when he was expecting her. The only thing that he did to indicate to her the he got the message was to nod. They were like Lord Vile, never speaking people, but Lord Vile had spoken to her, so they were different.
After she waited a bit the doors opened and she walked towards the end of the room. There was a tank with someone that opposed Lord Mevolent, but he was now one of Mevolent’s prizes. Adelle shivered the poor guy he didn’t get a nice grave, not that they were very nice bit it was better than floating in a tank.
Adelle saw Serpine standing next to a chair at the top of a small amount of stars. On the Chair was Lord Mevolent himself. Adelle only glanced at him, and then looked way. She didn’t want to be disrespectful to the most powerful person on the planet. Adelle kept walking till she reached the base of the stairs then she bowed, and held it until she was acknowledge.
“You may stand child” said Mevolent. Adelle stood up strait but kept her gaze to t ground.
“What did you do to him?” said Mevolent. The sudden chill in his voice sent a shiver down her spin.
“Do to whom, my lord?” said Adelle
“Don’t play games with me child” he snarled
“My lord I honestly have no idea who you are talking about!”
“Fine I shall play your game!  Lord Vile, what did you do to Lord Vile?”
Adelle looked at him in confusion without making eye contact “Um … my lord I might be speaking out of turn – but are we playing a game?”
“No child we are not playing a game unless you are!”
“If that’s the case then I have no idea what you are talking about, because I have done nothing to Lord Vile!”
“What did you do to him” Mevolent continued obviously ignoring her response “Did you use mind control, because none of our Physics can see inside his head!”
“I am sorry to disappoint you my lord but I am no physic and I cannot see inside his head let alone make him do what I want. I still do not see why you are asking these questions my lord!”
“Nefarian, please refresh this child’s memory” he said cruelly
“Gladly! One week and a half ago you came in and cleaned Lord Vile’s room, while you were cleaning the spear rack it fell and just before it hit you Vile jumped in its way and stopped you from getting hurt. And three nights ago someone tried to rob you then Lord Vile appeared next to you and killed the man than gave you back your basket that the man stole.” Said Nefarian Serpine
“You heard about that?” said Adelle. In surprise
“Yes, there was a witness that explained the body to the red hoods. So do you remember?” said Nefarian
“Yes Lord Serpine I remember them.”
“Good, now will you tell us what you did to make Lord Vile act that way?”
“Yes, I will but I don’t know what made him act that way, because I have done nothing to him! Honestly I don’t know why he did them! Lord Serpine I was just as surprised as you when he was protecting me from the spears!”
“That’s it I am done playing games with you girl! Bring her in” said Mevolent immediately after he said it the door opened and two red hoods dragged in a middle aged woman. Adelle spun around to see who was being dragged in.
“Adelle” the woman said as she looked up, other than being dragged in she looked OK
“Mum w-what are you doing in hear?”
“Nothing much” she responded
“Now tell me -” Mevolent said as he held up a knife to her mother’s throat “What did you do to him”
“N-nothing my lord, I-I did nothing to him”
“Tell me or she dies” he snarled as he pulled back her mother’s hair “I will not ask again”
“NOOO!” she screamed “Not my mum! Please not my mother! Please don’t kill my mother! I didn’t do anything to him my lord I swear; please my mother has nothing to do with this! Please my lord I’m begging you, let her go!”
“That’s it beg, because it is no concern to me, whether or not your mother dies. I tire of this game” he said as he walked over to his throne “What did you do”
“I-I don’t know my Lord I-I don’t know” she sobbed
“That’s it; I gave you more than enough chases to tell me what you did! Kill her mother!”
“NOOOO!” Adelle screamed as she ran for the red hoods growing in height as she did “Stay away from her!” she shouted and smacked the red hood that was now only reached her waist, he went flying across the room. The other red hood backed away from her mother and joined the other red hood that where attacking her.
“RUN!” Adelle shouted to her mother “RUN, GET AWAY FROM HERE!” her mother turned out the door and ran, just as Lord Vile had come to see what all the commotion was about.
“Don’t just stand there get her mother” Mevolent shouted angrily. Then Lord Vile shadow walked after her.
She had grown in height, so the red hoods now only came up to her middle of her thigh. The red hoods attacked from all sides with their scythes out, she punched some and they went down. She shrunk really fast and all the scythes missed her by inches. She was so small that she could hide in the folds of her maid dress that was way too big to her, she as the size of a finger now. Luckily she has a dress that could fit her when she grew or shrunk and that’s what she was wearing. A red hood picked up her brown maid dress; she jumped for cover behind a foot, then stood up and kicked it hard. The owner shouted and started hoping on one leg, she ran over to the other one and kicked it, he jumped and lander on another red hood. She used the confusion to grow back to a large size again. The red hood reached mid-thigh again. She swung her hand and knocked a number of red hoods off their feet. A red hoods scythe struck her calf.
Adelle screamed and as she did she swung her hand around and smacked the red hood down. She kicked the remaining red hood and he slid across the room.
“AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH” Adelle’s mother screamed from somewhere in the distance then was suddenly cut off.
“MUM” Adelle screamed back sprinting for the door, then a mist of purple tentacles wrapped around her arms and pulled her back
“NO, LET ME GO! LET ME GO!” She screamed as she struggled, trying to break free of the mist. An invisible wall slammed into her from above pining her to the floor. She tried to shrinking to wriggle out but the wall continued to press her to the floor. Mevolent sighed
“If you want something done right you’ve got to do it yourself! Isn’t that right Nefarain.”
“Apparently so Mevolent” said Nefarain as he cuffed Adelle’s wrists using binding hand cuffs. Adelle gasped as she felt her magic being bound and she instantly shrunk to regular size.

***

Lord Vile shadow walked after Adelle’s mum, she wasn’t that difficult to find considering she was using the most direct way out of the castle. When he found her he shadow walked in front of her.
“AH” she yelped as she jumped way. Her eyes widened when she realised who it was. He often enjoyed that he liked the looks of fear that people gave him, it amused him.
“Please help my daughter” she whispered “They’re going to hurt her, please. They’re convinced that she did something to you, but she didn’t I know she didn’t! And … and I know you care. I’ve seen you watching her from across the road.”
Lord Vile cocked his head, and then took a step forward, she stepped back. There where red hoods coming he could feel their presence, they were coming steadily closer. He stepped closer and grabbed her shoulder gently. She tried to pull away but his grip was strong but not painful. Lord Vile lent his head closer
“Scream” he whispered. She looked at him surprised and confused. He felt the Red hoods getting closer.
“AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH” she screamed
He turned a shadow sharp and stuck it in her stomach. Her scream was cut off. The red hoods saw this. Then before they could get closer he shadow walked.

***

They arrive at Adelle’s house. It wasn’t hurting, was she in heaven? Adelle’s mum looked down at the shadow pressing agents her stomach, it wasn’t cutting into her, she looked as saw a thin stream of shadows around her side, she looked at her back where they extended out and resumed the look of a spike. An illusion! The red hoods only saw the two parts that looked like a spike they didn’t see the thin stream around her side. They must have thought Lord Vile killed her! She looked around her house; they were in the living/dining/kitchen, the main room of the house. The room was large but that was because it was three in one. To the left is the kitchen, the green paint is peeling off the wooden cupboard, and of the wood on the island bench. In the center of the room there is a green sofa and matching arm chairs surrounding a carpet that is in front of a fire place. On either side of the fire place there are halls that lead to the bed rooms. The one of the left side leads to the parent’s bedrooms, the one on the right leads to the kid’s bedrooms. On the right side of the room there is a dining table with six chairs.
On the carpet in fount of the fire place where Adelle’s ten year old twin brothers Will and Ben, they were staring at Lord Vile and her. Why not? It’s not every day that one if the three Generals … now only two, is in your house looking like he is trying to kill your mother. Lord Vile must have seen them to because the shadows retracted.
“Hide or they will find you” Lord Vile whispered. Adelle’s mum nodded.
“Boy’s you’re going to pretend that you didn’t see us, OK! You mustn’t tell anyone not even dad or Adelle, OK. Do you understand?” Adelle’s mother said. The Twins nodded, there blond hair flopping around. Then they turned and continued putting the puzzle together, like Lord Vile and Adelle’s mother where never there.
“I’ll go to Mr Thomson’s place I’ll be able to hide there, but before I go I’ll get some clothes then leave” Said Adelle’s mum as she went into the hall that led to her bed room. Lord Vile nodded and shadow walked a few blocks away.
It could have been pure luck but walking along the street was a woman in a brown maid’s dress that looked very similar to Adelle’s mother. Lord Vile went to get a closer look. The woman was the right height and build. Even her hair looked the same, just a darker shade of blond. The face however was quite different, but that could be dealt with.

SP FanFic Other Dimention Part 03

WARNING THIS FANFIC IS BASED AFTER THE EVENTS OF KOTW, AND CONTAINS SPOILERS

Thanks to Death Rose for reading this! and making me feel very loved!!! :D !!! Now we are all happy!!!

It had been weeks and their conversation via letters was still going. Adelle talked a lot about her life and Lord Vile continued to ask her questions about it. Lord Vile didn’t talk much about himself. Although he found that every time Adelle saw him she became more confident around him, she even started telling him about her day when she noticed that he wasn’t paying attention to his book. She had started talking a little less formally around him to. He didn’t mind she was often one of the more interesting events of the day.

***

It had been a month since Adelle first met Lord Vile personally and they were quite friendly now, but Adelle told no one about it. Adelle walked into Lord Vile’s room put down her stuff then closed the door.
“Child don’t you knock?” said a voice. Adelle spun around to see Nefarian Serpine.
“Oh, Lord Serpine!” Adelle said as she bowed “I am so sorry I was not expecting you here!”
“Yes obviously!” he turned to Lord Vile, “You have a very bad mannered one here, you should replace her!” Adelle felt deep shallowness inside her chest, she felt hurt by Nefarian’s words. Then replaced by panic, was she going to be replaced? Would she be forced to leave work in the castle
“She’s only young” said Lord Vile
“Yes, I guess that is true” Serpine replied in a natural tone. Then relief flooded into her, she  wasn’t going to leave the castle.
“I could leave if you want, and come back later when no one is here!” said Adelle
“Well at least she can recognise that we are in a conversation” Serpine said cruelly “Yes leave us!”
“She can stay” said lord Vile
“She what?”
“She works quickly. Don’t you” he said looking at her
“Oh yes, I only have dusting to do and that shouldn’t take long!” Adelle said as she bowed
“Well it is your room Lord Vile so it is your choice that has the final say” said Serpine
Adelle started dusting at the book shelf trying not to listen to their conversation. She managed to only be half listening which was the best she could do. She was going around the room anti clock-wise. She had done most of the room then got to the spear rack, weaving the duster in and out of the spears. When she got to the middle of it, she accidentally pulled too hard. She saw the spears starting to fall, all the she could do was put her arms up to protect her face and squeeze her eyes shut. She felt something cold and hard touch her arms and it spread around the top of her back. She could hear the clanging of the spears as they hit the ground, and the sound of the rack hitting something hard above her. She waited a few moments to make sure that all of the spears had fallen. Then she cranked her eyes open, behind her arms she could see something black. She turned her head to see black armoured arms wrapped around her side and her back. Adelle turned her head to see Lord Vile holding on to her, with the spear rack leaning on his back. Did he jump in the way of the spears, for her?
“Um … I’m OK, um … can you please let go?” whispered Adelle.  Lord Vile dropped his arms by his side.
“Hear let me help u with that!” Adelle said as she jumped next to him, and then lifted the rack off his back. When Lord Vile stood up straight she saw how short she was compared to him, it made her feel so insignificant.
“Um … thank you very much Lord Vile!” she said as she bowed, “I’d best clean this up”
“Do we need to get another maid to help you so you don’t make an even bigger mess?” demanded Serpine
“Um … no Lord Serpine I’ll be fine, and much more carful this time” she responded looking at him as she did.
“OK then, Lord Vile shall we go somewhere else to continue our conversation?”
Lord Vile said nothing but went and walked out the doors to the hall. Once they had both left and the doors closed, Adelle let out a sigh and relaxed her muscles that where all tensed. Oh god, she was so confused! Why did he not just let it fall on her, or pull her out of the way? Why did he put himself in the way? Why waste time with her, she could easily be replaced? Her mind was buzzing with questions, but this would be one of those things that she would have to keep a secret. If this got out she could be blamed for it and punished. She quickly finished putting the spears on the rack and finished dusting.

***

Winter had begun, the nights where longer and there was a constant blanket of snow over the city. Lord Vile was sticking to the shadows of the night, keeping him well hidden. Adelle didn’t know that he was following her. He wanted to make sure that she was safe. Safe the word is so simple, sounds so easy, but it is easier to say than do. Lord Vile knew that from experience.  This was the first person that he wanted to keep safe for a while. This was the first person that he cared for in a while. The part of him that wasn’t the vile killer was holding on to her, and wasn’t going to let go. There wasn’t much of that man left in him but the girl somehow brought him out. She talked to him, about thing that didn’t involve killing people. Adelle was still scared of him, he saw it.
She stayed late tonight because it was winter and she needed to light a fire in his fireplace, to keep his room warm for the night. She had explained this to him a week ago when she came to light it. Adelle told him that she had to stay late to light it, and she was walking home on her own because her mother had to leave as usual to make the dinner for everyone else in her family.
He had first started to follow a week ago, her the day the spear rack almost fell on her, and he just wanted to make sure that she was OK. And now he wanted to make sure that she was safe. In the street there was only her and a man with a stubby beard, in a long grubby coat.

***

The snow fell quietly during the evening and it was still snowing lightly when Adelle left the castle. The lights were on in the street and there was snow on the road. Everything was quiet. Most people were inside at this time. Adelle had to walk from the castle almost to the wall because her house that was at the edge of the city, near the wall. Her family was fortunate to live inside the wall. This place was mainly for sorcerers that lived within the walls. But there were a few mortal families, but that was because they worked in the castle, and it was just for convenience for them to get there early and the blimps didn’t have to pick them up. Oh god she was tired, she just wanted to get home. A man with a stubby beard and a long grubby coat was on the street looking at her. She briefly glanced at him but didn’t stare, it wasn’t polite to stare. All of a sudden he jumped at her, she yelped and stepped back. He grabbed her basked; she slammed her free elbow onto his forearm. He yelped and recalled, almost dropping the basket. Then he punched her in the jaw, she fell to the ground, her head spinning.
“HEY!” she yelled as she got up, “GIVE THAT BACK” she started running after him, her run was clumsy because her head was still spinning but after a few moment’s she got her balance. The man was a fair bit ahead of her, but she was a fast runner, she could catch him. She started pilling on the speed just as the man stopped suddenly in front of her. He turned his head and looked into a dark alley. Then blood splattered on the white snow as black spike appeared from he’s back. Adelle stopped a few metres from where the man was. He was held up right by the spike. He gave a little gurgle then went limp and flopped on the spike for support. He was dead and she knew it. Lord Vile walked out from the ally. Adelle took a couple of steps back.
“Y-y-y, w-w, y-y, w-why” Adelle stuttered
He walks over to the body and picks up her fallen basket and walked over to her. As he does this, the spike retraces into the ground leaving the body to land with a lifeless thud. Lord Vile doesn’t seem to notice the body.  He just keeps waking towards Adelle. Adelle take a few small steps backwards. Oh god, what use will a few steps do? He can shadow walk and if I run then I won’t live any longer. When he gets to Adelle he holds out her basket. She hesitates.
“Um … uh … thanks, I guess” said Adelle as she takes her basket, “Um … I-I’ve got to go home now. Thank you for your help Lord Vile”
She started walking away, but she heard the crunch of foot step following her. Adelle stoped and turned, Lord Vile keep walking to catch up to her.
“Um … aren’t you going to go home? To the castle” she asked. Lord Vile cocked his head then moved it in a gesture to keep moving. She stated walking again.
“Ok then. Do you need to see my house or something?” she asked
Lord Vile said nothing but kept walking next to her.
“I take that as ‘or something’” she muttered. They walked in silence the rest of the way to Adelle’s house.
They turned into the street that Adelle’s house was in.
“So … um … how do I put this, how, no why where you in that ally?”
There was no response.
“Um … no offence but it’s kind of creepy when you came out of that ally! … um not that it’s bad for your reputation if anything in improves it … um you know makes it more scary.” Adelle swallowed “And well … I can’t help but feel that you’re following me home because I’m in trouble.” She said in a small voice

“You’re not in trouble” replied Lord Vile
“Oh ok then … but my family o-or my neighbours a-are they in trouble”
“No there’re not”
“Ok then but if no one is in trouble then why are you following me home?”
“I’m not following, I’m accompanying” said Lord Vile
Adelle stiffened “You’re not serious are you?”
“Does it look like I’m joking?”
“N-no”
Lord Vile just nodded
“So you’re not here to hurt me of my family?”
“No, I wouldn’t hurt you” as soon as Lord Vile finished the sentence Adelle froze
“You what? Did I hear correctly” she asked. Lord Vile turned and looked at her
“Yes” he turned back and kept walking without her. He stopped in front of a small one level house with a nicely groomed garden that was now covered in snow.
“How do you know which one’s my house?” she asked as he stopped in front of the door and looked at her, but said nothing. Adelle searched through her basket and brought out an old copper key. She was just about to put the key in the lock but before she could the door opened and Adelle’s mother stood in the door way. Heat radiated from the small home and fought agents the cold atmosphere.
“Oh good Adelle your home I was getting worried”
“I’m sorry mum but I left a little later than usual got in a little bit of trouble” Adelle said as she glanced at Lord Vile. Adelle’s mother eyes went wide as her gaze went to Lord Vile, “Oh don’t worry it’s all good now, there’s nothing to worry about!” Adelle said quickly, trying to keep her mother calm.
“Good after noon Lord Vile would you like to come inside for some tea or to warm up because it’s awfully cold out there” Adelle’s mother stated politely
“No thank you” he said than shadow walked way
“That is one way to make and exit” Adelle said
“Yes indeed, now come inside all the cold air is getting in”

SP FanFic Other Dimention Part 02

WARNING THIS FANFIC IS BASED AFTER THE EVENTS OF KOTW, AND CONTAINS SPOILERS

This is the next part I hope you like it!!!

The next day Adelle walked in to Lord Vile’s room and started to clean.
“Aha just where I left you” she said as she walked over to the coffee table, picked the paper up and opened it up. She looked and found a response.
“Huh, I actually got a response” she said sounding surprised

Dear A curious person

No I wouldn’t mind answering a few questions.
No it is not because I don’t like the food, it looks and smells great. I just don’t need to eat.
Yes the bed is more comfortable than the chair, but I don’t need to sleep either, so I don’t really need to use the bed.

Now ‘A curious person’ I have answered your questions it is only fair that you answer some form me.

What is your given name?

How did you get in here?

And why did you want to ask me questions?

From

Lord Vile

Dear Lord Vile

My given name is Adelle, but I will not tell you my last name because that I want to keep private.

I came through the doors from the hall.

I asked you the questions because I was, and still am, a curious person.

From

Adelle

Dear Adelle

It is good to know that you have a name other than ‘a curious person’.
I must ask did you know doors are for people with no imagination. If so then why didn’t you use the window?

From

Lord Vile

Dear Lord Vile

Yes I did know that people with no imagination use doors, because my parents use doors and they have no imagination, although doors are more for people who are lazy. And as fun as it would be to climb through a window, it would require more energy and time than I have, I also might not get there without falling, and we can’t all shadow walk where ever we want like you.

And sorry for the late reply I was too busy yesterday to drop it in your room.

From

Adelle

Dear Adelle

Yes, looking out my veranda and finding a dead person in the garden might not be what I want to see when I look outside. So I see why you use doors. I too use doors but I have an imagination. And by saying that your parents have no imagination are you saying that all people your parent’s age and older have no imagination?

From

Lord Vile

Dear Lord Vile

I am glad that you do not want to see me dead in the garden, not only would it ruin the view but I would be dead, and that I don’t particularly want! And no I am not implying that all people my parent’s age and older have no imagination, it is just most fail to have an imagination beyond what is realistic! They probably used to, but is has long since been worn out. And you said that you had an imagination, so if you have an imagination than that would not imply that people older than my parents don’t have imaginations considering you are much older than my parents.
This might rude of me but how old are you exactly?

From

Adelle

Dear Adelle

Sorry for the late reply I had to go out yesterday and the day before so I could not reply till today.

I am glad that your parents have at least a limited imagination, but still poor them for losing a great thing.
Adelle I shall not tell you my exact age because you do not need t know my exact age … for that matter you do not even need to know my age at all! Unless you were … never mind that thought is none of your concern.

I am over 400 years old; yes I am much older than your grandfather and much better looking!

But my looks are a story for another day.

Adelle, I know it is impolite to ask a lady her age, but well … I told you mine so it would be fair!
So Adelle how old are you?

Lord Vile

It had been a week and a half since Adelle gave her first letter to Lord Vile and they had passed about eight letters, four each. The replies were not always one day after another. Sometimes they were busy and had to wait till the next day to receive a letter. But their conversations were constant and interesting. Lord Vile talked more on paper than she expected, but she wasn’t complaining. She walked in to lord Vile’s room. He was at lunch, one of the other maids told her before she left. So she did not need to knock. She did a bit of dusting for a couple of minutes, and then she went over to the coffee table and pulled out the piece of paper from the pocket in her apron. She placed down the piece of paper but because before she could pull her hand away the door opened and Lord Vile walked in. She froze her fingers still on the edge of the paper. She turned white, her face covered with shock. They looked at each other for a few long moments. Then Adelle relaced the paper and bowed.
“I’m so sorry for disturbing you I didn’t know you were going to be in here, I thought you were at lunch. I’m terribly sorry! If you want I can leave and come back later when you’re not here!” Adelle blurted out.
Lord Vile strode over to her, his night black armour shifting as he moved.
“You may continue” he whispered, his voice cold and hollow, then he genially picked up the paper on the coffee table and walked over to the writing desk. Adelle stood there for a few moments staring at the back of Lord Vile’s head. Did he really just talk to her? With her mind whirling the managed to get back to dusting, she tried to avoid getting too close to lord Vile.

Lord Vile was surprise to see such a young person placing down the letter. He felt sorry for her when she saw him. She went as white as a sheet! Obviously she wasn’t expecting him to come in when she was there. She was a new maid and younger than most he had seen before. It made sense that she was the one to be giving him the letters, after all he usually found them after lunch and that was when the maids generally cleaned the bedrooms. He mainly ignored her babbling told her to continue then collected the letter which he read at the desk.

Dear Lord Vile

Yes you are much older than all of my grandparent’s age’s put together!
Oh I loved my grandfather, on my mother’s side, I never really knew my dad’s dad. But my mother’s dad, oh he was great! He used to tell us wonderful stories. My parents might not have a great imagination but my grandfather definitely did! He never ran out of stories to tell. Although occasionally he would repeat one, but we would never care because they were so good. I was so sad when he died last year!

As for my age I am 17 nowhere near as old as you!

Adelle

When the only area that she hadn’t dusted was the area of the desk, she went and made the bed.  When she was almost done making the bed Lord Vile got up and went over to the book shelf, grabbed a book and went over to the chairs. Before he sat down he placed the letter that he had just written on the coffee table. Adelle finished making the bed then went over to the desk and dusted there.
“Um do you want me to collect the letter?” she asked as she walked over to the coffee table
Lord Vile turned his head “Adelle can take the Letter” he said
“Um, I’m Adelle Lord Vile. Nice to meet you” she said as she picked up the letter.
“Likewise”
“Um … I should get going, bye” Adelle gave a hasty bow; quickly gathered her stuff then hurried out the door.

“NOOO!” she screamed “Not my mum! Please not my mother! Please don’t kill my mother! I didn’t do anything to him my lord I swear; please my mother has nothing to do with this! Please my lord I’m begging you, let her go!”

Five and a half weeks earlier

Why did she have to get his room? Why her, there are plenty of other maids that worked in the castle, she thought. Seriously, there are plenty more experienced than her! She is 17 and has only been working in the castle for a couple of months, not nearly as much as the others who had cleaned his room before her. But her mother said she could and none of the other maids wanted to do it, because it was his room after all. But it wasn’t so bad, they had explained that he didn’t eat and hardly use his bed, so all she would really have to do is mop it, dust it and change the sheets. Which to be honest didn’t sound so bad and in her free time she could help make food in the kitchen with her mother, there could never be too many people cooking the food. So it was compulsory that if you didn’t have anything to do, that you must help in the kitchen. The cooks are always happy with the help. She wouldn’t need to stay as his personal servant that followed him around because as soon as he got one he would dismiss them because he never wanted one.
She sighed; her dark bronzy/golden hair was tied back in a ponytail. She flicked her head so that her side fringe got out of her eye, since she was carrying a bucket of water and a mop she couldn’t use her hands. She was slightly shorter than medium height for her age, but she didn’t mind and she was slim. She had freckles splashed across her nose and had hazel eyes. She was wearing a brown maid dress because that’s what she was, a maid that worked in the castle.
Oh God, she best not mess this up. If she did … well she didn’t want to think about that. She walked through the wide halls then turned to large wooden doors. She knew that the owner was out, patrolling a nearby town, scaring the towns people to death and looking for any of the remaining resistance that didn’t die in the major battle that killed that recent resistance leader China Sorrows, a couple of weeks ago. She put the bucket down and knocked, just in case he was in there.
“Hello … Um if anyone is in there I’m coming in to clean the floors,” she called into the room.
She opened up the large door and walked into the large room with a high ceiling, across the room there where French glass doors leading onto a stone balcony. To the right side of the room there was a king sized bed with a wooden frame and a book shelf next to the door. To the left there was a writing desk with a chair, a spear rack with spears on it, a fire place with two comfy looking chairs with wooden framing and a coffee table between them. There were a couple of tapestries on the wall but not much decoration otherwise.
“Wow, this whole room could almost fit my house in it!” she said.
She dusted the room and then mopped the floor, but she didn’t need to change the sheets because no one had slept in them.

“So Adelle, how did it go? Was it easy enough to do?” her mother asked when she walked in to the large kitchen. Her mother was a woman with shoulder length blond hair, and blue eyes and she was just a little on the plump side.
“Um … good, I guess. The room is all clean and he wasn’t in there, so yeah” she said as she walked over to the massive island bench.
“That’s good! It’s just the way it’s supposed to be, you’re not seen but your work is! Wonderful!” said her mother cheerfully “Oh and did I mention you’re doing his room permanently, all of the –“
“WHAT!!! I thought this was a one off thing!”
“Well yes but there is no one else to do it, and -”
“NO ONE ELSE! This place is –“
“Yes, there is no one else … everyone else already have assigned jobs to do and you have only been on this job for a couple of months so -”
“Exactly! I have only been a maid for a couple of months, so I don’t have the experience to do his room all the time -”
“You do have the experience!”
“No, actually, I don’t because cleaning his room is a death sentence!”
“You did it once, so you can do it again!”
“CLEANING LORD VILE’S ROOM IS A DEATH SENTENCE!!!”
“No” her mother said calmly “Cleaning his room is not a death sentence, meeting him however might be” There where murmurs of agreement thought the kitchen
“But-”
“No but you are cleaning his room permanently from now on, I have agreed on it and so have many others. So that is what you shall do!”
“Fine” Adelle mumbled.

It had been a week since Adelle started cleaning Lord Vile’s room and she never saw him in there, because she did the cleaning whenever he was out. He was still busy searching for the resistance. She knew that it wouldn’t last so she was working out the pattern of when he was out doing things other than search for the remainders of the resistance. She had just put the cleaning stuff away and entered the kitchen
“Hi Mum, how’s the cooking going?” asked Adelle
“Good. There is no complicated dishes, it is simpler today and fresh supplies were just brought in” she said as she pointed the tip of the knife over to the crates near the large doors at the opposite end of the room
“Excuse me” said a cook from behind her. It was a woman, carrying a large metal pot with steam coming out of it.
“Oh, sorry” Adelle said as she moved out of the way and the cook passed her, and went over to the sinks “So what can I do?”
“You can get out of the way for one thing” said another cook wanting to get past
“Sorry, sorry!” she said as she moved
“Get five tomatoes, ten carrots and lettuce” said her mother
“Sure” she said as she moved to the refrigerator dogging more busy cooks on the way “Five tomatoes, ten carrots and lettuce” she muttered to herself repeatedly as she wandered the massive fridge trying to find the vegetables. After she found all of what she needed, she came to stand between her mother and her friend, Sarah. Sarah was about her height and like her had hazel eyes and freckles. Sarah had brown hair and was slim, but not as slim as Adelle. Sarah was a maid that cleaned the castle halls and rooms that weren’t occupied by people, but otherwise she cooked and replaced people when necessary, like Adelle.
“Hi Sarah, how are you today?”
“I’m good how about you?”
“Yeah I’m good!” Adelle responded “So what are we making today?”
“Soup”, her mother replied “a big fancy soup with lots of flavour and wonderful side dishes!”
“OK. So how do you want me to chop up the veggies?” Adelle asked
“Chop the carrots and the tomatoes up small. The lettuce I would like in thin strips and get rid of the tomato seeds”
“OK” she said “… Hey Mum, why doesn’t Lord Vile eat?”
“We have spoken about this before, I don’t know, no one does”
“OK thanks for answering honestly”
“Why did you want to know?” Asked Sarah
“I dunno … I was just curious”

***

The next day lord Vile walked back to his room after lunch. He didn’t eat anything but it was always insisted that he comes in case they ended up talking about something important. He would often go just for the sake of passing time but not always and nobody minded, after all it wasn’t like he contributed anything. When he got back to his room it was nice and quiet, just how he liked it. He walked over to his book shelf and took a book off it. Then walked over to the chairs by the fire place, then he noticed a folded piece of paper on the coffee table. He put the book down and picked up the paper. It was written in neat running writing. The person was obviously educated, unlike some of the maids.

Dear Lord Vile

I am deeply burning with curiosity and so I must ask, will you answer some of my questions?
Why don’t you eat? Is it because you don’t like the food or is it for another reason? If so will you tell me?
Why don’t you sleep in your bed? Isn’t it more comfortable than the chair?

If you do decide to answer the questions please leave a note on the coffee table.
Thank you very much!

From
A curious person

Lord Vile looked at the paper longer than he had to; no one had written a letter to him in a while. He studied the handwriting, but couldn’t recognise it.
He debated with himself for a while whether he should reply or not. He finally decided to reply considering he didn’t have much else to do with his time.
